Makeup is again intended to look natural, but still should be applied to minimize blemishes and to exaggerate natural beauty. Use concealer and or foundation to even out the skin tone and cover shine. A light blush can give your cheeks a hint of color without looking gaudy or overdone.

Use eyeshadow in natural tones. If done correctly you can get that Boho-Chic natural look without appearing either fake or unpolished. Eyeliner should be minimal and thin. Black mascara is almost always best regardless of the look, the year, or the trend.

For Boho-Chic, lip balm is preferred as lips should appear natural and moist, not dry or chapped. Apply minimal color for that natural pink hue, avoiding colors that are too light or too dark.

For the clothing, you will want to consider skirts, especially flowy skirts, or at least a bohemian-style top over blue jeans. For tops, go with feminine, ruffled, lacey, or empire-waists. The idea is natural beauty with earthy colors splashed with magenta, orange, and green. Shoes vary from sandals to boots with legwarmers in Boho-Chic.

Accessories are very important with Boho-Chic as the look is synonymous with multiple accessories. Several bracelets would be recommended along with a few necklaces and dangling earrings. Belts are a popular way to express Boho-Chic style, with feminine detail and handiwork. All of these looks together form a total Boho-Chic look that is feminine and free, but with more sophistication than the original hippie trend.]]>

<![CDATA[The Wave of Popularity of Boho-Chic]]> http://www.enjoyzeta.com/blog/the-wave-of-popularity-of-boho-chic/
Starting in the early nineties, Boho-Chic has waxed and waned in slight variations over time. Sienna Miller was engaged to Jude Law, in 2004, when they appeared in the film, “Alfie” together. On the front cover of “Vogue,” Miller was noted as the “girl of the year.”

Miller’s style of white peasant skirts, ruffled tops, and other Boho-Chic items caused a surge in popularity of the look in both Europe and the U.S. Women and girls alike flocked to the stores to buy the elegant hippi-style clothing and accessories, hoping to mimic the actress in all her class and beauty.

But when the actress broke up with Jude Law, the look was already fading from popularity. The Sunday Times Style Magazine warned women that the style was “going down” and that women should begin accessorizing their feminine Boho-Chic attire with metallic items, anticipating the boho-rock look of 2006.

Yet even since, the Boho-Chic style has emerged under the guise of other styles, as the frilly short-dress, beaded headbands, and lacy tops show up in only slightly different forms as before. The innocent femininity of the Boho-Chic look makes it harder for the public to fully let go of as fashion trends move continually forward.]]>

<![CDATA[History of Boho Chic]]> http://www.enjoyzeta.com/blog/history-of-boho-chic/
It is estimated that approximately 1,000,000 Romani, or “Roma” live and dwell here in the US. Portugal, during colonial times, deported their population of Romani to Brazil, where now approximately 800,000 live. The look of their clothes and style was at some point termed “Bohemian,” later shortened to “Boho.” While it began as a way to describe the simple homespun look, the Bohemian term began to take on new meaning over time.

In a book on Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle described the man through Watson’s words, stating that Holmes “loathed every form of society with his whole Bohemian soul" going on to describe how Holmes hid out in their lodgings, buried in old books. Winston Churchill was also called Bohemian by A.N. Wilson who stated that Churchill was pre-First World War Bohemian “in his dress-sense as in much else.” Bohemian began to represent a rejection of conformity to the norm.

Chic is a term that began in the late 1800s in France, meaning elegant or stylish. “The Lady,” Britain’s oldest weekly women’s magazine, stated in 1887, “the ladies of New York…think no form of entertainment so chic as a luncheon party.”

The book “Lucia in London” by E.F. Benson also used the term to describe the gathering of an elegantly dressed array of guests that arrived at a spur-of-the-moment post-opera party, “the most chic informality that it was possible to conceive." And Audrey Hepburn, the classy and sophisticated actress of the 1950s, wore an Edith Head dress that took off in popularity, the designer stating "If it had been worn by somebody with no chic it would never have become a style.”

Both “Boho” and “Chic” have a rich history in English-speaking culture. Together, the combined term “Boho-Chic” has come to represent a sort of homespun but sophisticated, antique but trendy, and rebellious but beautiful look in fashion.]]>

<![CDATA[Famous Icons of the Boho-Chic Fashion Trend]]> http://www.enjoyzeta.com/blog/famous-icons-of-boho-chic/ Boho-Chic look is UK actress Sienna Miller, who, when returning from her travels, was caught wearing a feminine hippie-reminiscent look that caught on in a big way with women across Europe and the United States. Ruffled tops and flowing white peasant skirts became the order of the day.

Beaded headbands, Shakespearian-influenced dresses, gypsy skirts, and long feminine hairstyles were popular during the period of 2004-2005 especially. While the style began in the 1990s, it peaked under Sienna Miller’s influence.

However, the actress never intended to create a fashion wave and when the trend began to nosedive, as all fashions do, the actress remarked that it was not her fault that the style of dress she loved was copied and worn out. But perhaps because of this influence she had had and the way she started up another trend in 2007, she began marketing her own clothing line, Twenty8Twelve, with her sister Savannah.

Other actresses responsible for the Boho-Chic movement were Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson whose popularity with young girls gave them a great deal of influence over the style of the day. With their own clothing line, among many other product lines, these girls were positioned to market Boho-Chic while they wore it.

Kate Moss, another actress from the United Kingdom, was also observed wearing Boho-Chic style clothing and accessories, only adding to the popularity of the look. But as the Boho-Chic trend began to fade in 2005-2006, a new look came in that too closely mirrored Boho-Chic to take credit for originality. The 2007-2008 “folk” style that followed shared a lot in common with Boho-Chic, as actresses like Mischa Barton (wearing a feminine empire-waist short dress in 2006) promoted the newest version of feminine fashion.]]>

<![CDATA[Happy New Year Zeta fans]]> http://www.enjoyzeta.com/blog/happy-new-year-zeta-fans/ Happy New Year Zeta fans! With all the focus right now on our New Year’s resolutions, I found a recent article fun and interesting. I really love Fashion Resolution #9: Shine a Little Brighter! It seems a lot easier to stick to-not to mention more enjoyable-than the usual lose weight resolution!! Some of my favorite ways to “Shine a Little Brighter” are right here on our website. Take a look at our Black Magnetic Clasp Cuff Bracelet…

This is after my heart because it’s shiny & chic and a bargain to boot! I also adore our Feathers and Bling Earrings…they have a delightful fusion of feathers and crystals.

But, I’d like to look beyond jewelry for ways to “Embrace Our Inner Bling”. I love our Black Stretch Pant with Bling!! They fit so nicely and feel so good on, but most importantly, they put a little bling on your bootie!!

My other big fave is the Skinny Bling Black Leather Belt…It is a slender slice of sparkle and can be used in so many ways…

So, ladies, take a look at these items and more on enjoyzeta.com and add some PIZZAZZ to 2012!!
